HP JBT Eligibility Criteria

• Educational Qualification: Candidates must have passed 10+2 or Senior Secondary with at least 50% marks from a recognized board and hold a 2-year Junior Basic Teacher (JBT) course or Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed.) from an institute affiliated to HPBOSE. Alternatives include Senior Secondary with 45% marks and 2-year JBT/D.El.Ed. as per NCTE 2002 regulations, 4-year B.El.Ed., 2-year Diploma in Education (Special Education), Graduation with 2-year JBT/D.El.Ed., or Post Graduation with 55% marks and 3-year integrated B.Ed.-M.Ed. Must have qualified the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) conducted by HPBOSE. Relaxation of 5% in marks for SC/ST/OBC/PWD candidates. Matric and 10+2 must be from institutions in Himachal Pradesh (exempt for bonafide Himachalis).
• Age limit: 18-45 years as on the official cut-off date.
• Additional requirements: Knowledge of customs, manners, and dialects of Himachal Pradesh is desirable.
