PM Kisan Yojana Eligibility Criteria

Who Can Apply:

  • Indian citizen farmers with cultivable land in their name
  • Small and marginal farmers (no upper land ceiling specified for most states)
  • Both rural and urban farmers with registered agricultural land
  • Primarily designed for farmers actively engaged in agriculture, generally within the age range of 18–40 years 

Who Is NOT Eligible: 

  • Former or current holders of constitutional posts
  • Former or current Ministers, MPs, MLAs, Mayors
  • Officers and employees of Central/State Government (excluding Multi-Tasking Staff/Group D/Class IV)
  • Income tax payers (last assessment year)
  • Professionals such as doctors, engineers, lawyers, chartered accountants registered with professional bodies
  • Pensioners receiving ₹10,000 or more per month (excluding Multi-Tasking Staff/Group D)

Other Requirements:

  • Aadhaar number must be linked to PM-Kisan registration

How To Apply PM Kisan Yojana

  1. Visit the official portal: Go to pmkisan.gov.in
  2. Navigate to Farmers Corner: On the homepage, scroll down and click "New Farmer Registration"
  3. Select Registration Type: Choose Rural Farmer Registration or Urban Farmer Registration
  4. Enter Aadhaar Details: Input your 12-digit Aadhaar number, select your State, enter the captcha, and click "Search"
  5. If farmer details are not found, the page will display confirmation and ask 'if you want to register yourself' — click the 'Yes' tab to proceed
