PM Kisan Yojana 2026 Overview

The Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) is a Central Sector Scheme fully funded by the Government of India and implemented by the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare. Launched to provide direct income support to landholding farmer families, the scheme transfers ₹6,000 annually in three equal installments of ₹2,000 each directly to beneficiaries’ bank accounts via DBT. All landholding farmer families (husband, wife and minor children) with cultivable land in their names are eligible, subject to scheme guidelines. The 21st installment was released on 19 November 2025. The 22nd installment for the December 2025–March 2026 period is awaited; the official release date will be announced on the PM-KISAN portal. PM Kisan Yojana Eligibility Criteria

  • PM-KISAN provides support to all landholding farmer families where the family owns cultivable land as per State/UT land records. A family is defined as husband, wife and minor children. The scheme covers farmers across India, including urban areas if the land is cultivable.
  • Eligibility is determined by State Governments based on land records. The following categories are excluded:
  • Institutional land holders
  • Families of former or present constitutional post holders, Ministers, MPs, MLAs, Mayors, District Panchayat Chairpersons
  • Serving or retired government officers/employees (except MTS/Class IV/Group D)
  • Pensioners receiving ₹10,000 or more monthly pension (except MTS/Class IV)
  • Persons who paid Income Tax in the last assessment year
  • Registered professionals such as Doctors, Engineers, Lawyers, Chartered Accountants and Architects
  • Aadhaar-linked eKYC is mandatory for receiving installments.
