SSC MTS Answer Key 2026 Overview

The Staff Selection Commission conducts the SSC MTS & Havaldar recruitment every year to fill thousands of Group ‘C’ posts in various central government ministries, departments, and offices. The 2025-26 cycle has a total of 7948 vacancies (6810 MTS + 1138 Havaldar). After the successful completion of the Tier-1 CBT exam in February 2026, the Commission will upload the tentative answer key, candidate response sheet, and question paper on its portal. Candidates can download their individual response sheet, match it with the official answer key, calculate marks as per the prescribed marking scheme, and raise objections (if any) within the given window. This transparent process ensures fairness and gives every candidate a chance to get their score corrected before the final result and merit list are prepared.

SSC MTS Eligibility Criteria

• Educational Qualification: Candidates must have passed Matriculation (10th class) or equivalent examination from a recognized Board as on 01.08.2025.
• Age Limit (as on 01.08.2025): – 18-25 years for most MTS posts – 18-27 years for Havaldar posts and certain MTS posts
• Nationality: Indian citizen or subject of Nepal/Bhutan (with proper documents)
• Physical Requirements: PET/PST only for Havaldar posts (running, height, chest, weight as per rules)
• Age Relaxation: Applicable as per government norms (OBC 3 years, SC/ST 5 years, PwBD 10 years, Ex-Servicemen as per rules, etc.)

SSC MTS Selection Process

1. Computer Based Examination (Paper-1) – Objective type, 90 minutes
2. Physical Efficiency Test (PET) / Physical Standard Test (PST) – Only for Havaldar posts
3. Document Verification
4. Final Merit List based on Paper-1 marks (and PET/PST qualifying)

1. Objection start date – Will be announced along with answer key release (expected within 2-3 days of key release)
