AAI Apprentice Eligibility Criteria

  • Educational Qualification (Graduate Apprentice): Full-time regular four-year B.E./B.Tech degree in Civil, Electrical, Electronics, CS/IT, Mechanical/Automobile, or BCA — recognised by AICTE, Government of India.
  • Educational Qualification (Diploma Apprentice): Full-time regular three-year Diploma in Engineering in the above-mentioned streams, recognised by AICTE.
  • Educational Qualification (ITI Trade Apprentice): ITI/NCVT certificate in Computer Operator Programming Assistant (COPA) or Steno trade from a recognised institution.
  • Age Limit: Minimum 18 years, Maximum 26 years as on 31st March 2026.
  • Age Relaxation: Applicable as per Government of India guidelines for SC/ST/OBC/PwBD and other eligible categories.
  • Previous Apprenticeship: Candidates who have previously completed or are currently undergoing apprenticeship — either in AAI or any other organisation at the same qualification level — are not eligible.
  • Work Experience: Candidates with 1 year or more of job experience after attaining the essential qualification are not eligible to apply.
  • Nationality / Domicile: Indian nationals who are domiciles of Delhi, Chandigarh, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir, Ladakh, Madhya Pradesh, Punjab, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, or Uttarakhand are eligible.

  • Stage 1: Shortlisting of candidates based on marks obtained in the qualifying examination (B.E./B.Tech / Diploma / ITI)
  • Stage 2: Document Verification of shortlisted candidates
  • Stage 3: Medical Fitness Check (as per applicable norms)
  • Final Allocation: Training station allotted based on availability and merit

  2. For ITI Trade Apprentices: Visit the NAPS portal at naps.msde.gov.in and complete your registration.
  3. Complete your profile on the respective portal — fill in personal details, educational qualifications, and upload required documents (marksheets, certificates, photograph, signature, domicile proof, etc.).
  4. Search for the employer — type "Airports Authority of India – Northern Region" in the establishment search on the portal.
