The Arunachal Pradesh Staff Selection Board (APSSB) has released a Special Recruitment Drive 2026 for 984 vacancies across three posts — Constable, Fireman, and Special Tiger Guard. APSSB Eligibility Criteria

• Educational Qualification — Class X pass or equivalent from a recognised Board. For Constable Band (IRBn) and Constable Bugler (IRBn), knowledge of playing band/bugle is required.
• Age Limit — As on 10 April 2026: 18–22 years for Constable posts (Post Codes 5/26 to 9/26); 18–32 years for Fireman and Special Tiger Guard posts.
• Mandatory Requirement — Candidates must fulfil the prescribed Physical Standards and qualify the Physical Efficiency Test (PET) and Trade Test (where applicable).
• Age Relaxation — 5 years upper age relaxation for APST candidates. Ex-Servicemen get deduction of service period plus up to 3 years as per rules. One-time relaxation available for specific earlier applicants in certain posts.
• Nationality / Domicile — Must be a citizen of India. APST certificate required for reservation benefits.

APSSB Selection Process 

• Stage 1: Objective Type Written Examination (200 marks, 2 hours) covering General Awareness, Reasoning, Arithmetic and English. Minimum 33% qualifying marks required.
• Stage 2: Physical Standard Test (PST), Physical Efficiency Test (PET) and Trade Test (for Band/Bugler posts). Candidates shortlisted in 1:3 ratio. Ex-Servicemen exempted from PET/Trade Test.
• Stage 3: Medical Fitness Test.
• Final Merit / Document Verification: Based on written exam marks and post preference order submitted by the candidate.
