Assam Police Jail Warder Eligibility Criteria

• Educational Qualification: HSLC or equivalent from a recognized Board or Council.
• Age Limit: 18 to 40 years as on January 1, 2026.
• Mandatory Requirement: Registered with local Employment Exchange in Assam; fluent in Assamese or any state language; citizen of India and permanent resident of Assam.
• Age Relaxation: 5 years for SC/ST(P)/ST(H); 3 years for OBC/MOBC; additional 2 years for Ex-Servicemen.
• Physical Standards: Height - Male: 162.5 cm (Gen/OBC/MOBC/SC), 160 cm (ST(P)/ST(H)); Female: 144.5 cm (Gen/OBC/MOBC/SC), 142 cm (ST(P)/ST(H)). Chest (Male): Minimum 81 cm deflated. Weight proportionate to height and age. Sound health with no defects.

Assam Police Jail Warder Selection Process 

1. Physical Efficiency Test (PET) - Race and Long Jump (40 marks)
2. Physical Standard Test (PST) and Medical Examination
3. Written Test (100 MCQs, 50 marks)
4. Final: Oral/Viva Voce (5 marks) + NCC Weightage (up to 5 marks)
