The Department of Home Guards, Civil Defence, Fire & SDRF, Himachal Pradesh has released Advertisement No. 01/2026 to enroll 700 Home Guard Volunteers across the state. HP Home Guards Eligibility Criteria

• Educational Qualification • General Duty (Men & Women) & Bandmen: Must have passed 10+2 (Higher Secondary) from a recognized board. • Drivers: 10+2 or Matriculation with valid Heavy Motor Vehicle (HMV) driving licence. • Technical Tradesmen (Electrician, Plumber, Carpenter, Tailor, Pharmacist, Steno, Armourer): Matriculation + ITI certificate in the relevant trade recognized by HP Government.
• Age Limit (as on 01 January 2026) Minimum 18 years – Maximum 50 years.
• Mandatory Requirement Valid Physical Standards and Physical Efficiency Test (PET) for General Duty posts. Candidates must meet height, chest (for males), and efficiency standards mentioned in the notification.
• Age Relaxation As per Himachal Pradesh Government rules for reserved categories (exact details available in official notification).
