JK Police Constable Eligibility Criteria

• Educational Qualification: Candidates must have passed Matriculation (10th Class) from a recognized Board or University. This ensures basic literacy and comprehension skills needed for police duties, with no higher qualification required unless specified for specialized roles like Telecommunication.
• Age Limit: Minimum 18 years and maximum 28 years as on 01 January 2025. Candidates should not have been born before 01 January 1997 or after 01 January 2007 for Open Merit category, calculated precisely to align with government norms.
• Mandatory Requirement: Possession of a valid Domicile Certificate of the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, issued by competent authority before the application deadline. For physical roles, candidates must qualify in Physical Endurance Test (PET) and meet standards.
• Age Relaxation: Up to 3 years for SC/ST/RBA/ALC/IB/EWS categories, 2 years for in-service personnel, and additional relaxations for ex-servicemen (deduct service period plus 3 years) and SPOs/VHGs (up to 40 years). These are as per J&K government reservation rules to promote inclusivity.
