Odisha Police has released a fresh recruitment notification for engagement of 800 Special Police Officers (SPO) on contractual basis. This drive is exclusively open to retired Assistant Sub-Inspectors, Sub-Inspectors and Inspectors who served in Odisha State Police. Candidates must be permanent residents of Odisha, proficient in Odia language, and have a clean service record with Good/Very Good PAR/CCR for the last 60 months before retirement. Odisha Police SPO Eligibility Criteria

• Educational Qualification — Retired Asst. Sub-Inspector / Sub-Inspector / Inspector of Odisha State Police. No fresh educational qualification required beyond retirement from these ranks.
• Age Limit (as on cut-off date) — Maximum 65 years (exact cut-off date mentioned in official notification).
• Mandatory Requirement — Permanent resident of Odisha; must be able to read, write and speak Odia language fluently; unblemished service record; Good or Very Good CCR/PAR for continuous 60 months immediately before superannuation; must have vacated government quarter if allotted earlier.
• Age Relaxation — Not applicable (upper age fixed at 65 years).
• Any other official conditions — Only retired personnel from Odisha State Police are eligible. Serving officers or retirees from other states/departments are not eligible. Candidates must submit proof of retirement and service records.
