UPSC IES/ISS Recruitment Eligibility Criteria

• Educational Qualification: For IES: Post-graduate degree in Economics/Applied Economics/Business Economics/Econometrics from a recognized university. For ISS: Bachelor's degree with Statistics/Mathematical Statistics/Applied Statistics as one subject, or Master's degree in Statistics/Mathematical Statistics/Applied Statistics.
• Age Limit: 21 to 30 years as on 01/08/2026.
• Mandatory Requirement: Nationality - Indian citizen or as per rules.
• Age Relaxation: 5 years for SC/ST, 3 years for OBC, 10 years for PwBD, and additional for ex-servicemen as per government norms.
• Any other official conditions: Candidates must be physically fit as per standards; no experience required.

1. Written Examination (1000 marks) consisting of 6 papers.
